Anderson Cooper has his second child with former partner Benjamin Maisani via surrogacy.

TV personality Anderson Cooper is a father again. His former partner and he have a new baby born out of surrogacy. He announced this happy news on his show on 10 February 2022.

The TV host Anderson Cooper shared on CNN an exciting and good news related to his personal life. He began the talk by stating that he wants to share with his audience some good news that is very personal. He recalled how he had introduced his first baby, son Wyatt on his show Anderson Cooper 360 on the April 2020 episode.

Anderson pulled out a snap of Wyatt and showing it to the camera said:

“Well, this is Wyatt today. He’s nearly 22 months old and he is sweet and funny and the greatest joy in my life. If he looks particularly happy in this picture, it’s because he now has a baby brother. His name is Sebastian and I would like you to meet him.”

More details of Anderson’s second child

The TV anchor went on to reveal that his second child Sebastian was born with a birth weight of 7 pounds. He described him adorable. Anderson added:

“He is healthy and happy even his occasional hiccups are to me adorable,”

Providing more details, Anderson said:

“He mostly just sleeps and eats and he certainly poops, but he already seems like a wise and thoughtful little chap.”

The child was born to a surrogate mother with his former partner, Benjamin Maisani who is a night club owner. Further, Anderson revealed that Wyatt had helped him and Benjamin to put together the crib for the new little bundle of joy.

Anderson and his relationships

Anderson came out as gay in 2012 but his family and friends knew about it long back. He keeps quiet about his boyfriends. He was romantically involved with Benjamin Maisani. But their last together photo on Instagram is of May 2017. In March 2018, Anderson’s rep made a statement that read:

“Benjamin and I separated as boyfriends some time ago. We are still family to each other, and love each other very much. We remain the best of friends, and will continue to share much of our lives together.”

Despite the split, the two remain good friends. They are also co-parenting Wyatt and Sebastian. There was some more new information that Anderson shared with his fans and viewers. He said:

“Benjamin is also in the process of adopting Wyatt, so Wyatt’s last name will be changed soon to Maisani-Cooper as well.”

Remembering his late parents and brother, Anderson expressed:

“When I announced Wyatt’s birth, I said that I like to imagine my mom and dad and brother, all of whom are no longer alive, with their arms around each other, smiling and joyful at his birth. Well, these past 22 months. I felt them watching over us very strongly and I already feel their love for Sebastian. The family I was born into may be gone but I feel them alive in the family that we’ve created in new love and new life.”
