The real name of rock star ASAP Rocky is Rakim Athelaston Mayers. He was born on 3 October 1988 and his current age is 33 years. His birthplace is Harlem in New York in the USA. He is also called Lord Flacko. His father was from Barbados. He has an elder brother and an elder sister called Erika. ASAP started rapping when he was 9 years old. At his age of 12, his father dealt in illegal drug sakes and the police arrested him and jailed him. The next year, his brother was murdered in Harlem. Later, his father died in 2012.

He stayed in shelters for homeless people along with his mother and sister. He used to sell crack and cannabis for a living.

The rapper was caught in 2004 for illicit drug dealing and jailed for 2 weeks in Rikers Island. On 19 July 2012, he had a brawl with an artist named iRome, 21 in midtown Manhattan. After the rapper’s arrest, US embassy people intervened and his fans raised slogans to release ASAP. The Swedish court passed a verdict and held him guilty. He had completed his prison term and had to pay damages.
