Britney Spears wins back her right to manage and control her own finances and assets!

The famous singer, Britney Spears, 40 has won her right back to manage her own finances herself. Her father, Jamie had tried to keep this right with him citing her mental imbalance as the reason for it. But a judge overturned his wish and restored Britney with this right.

Britney Spears and her legal win

Variety magazine has revealed that on 8 December 2021, a court in California has granted the famed singer, Britney Spears the right to manage and control her own finances henceforth. Jamie’s attorney, Alex Weingarten asked the judge to allow Jamie, 69 to take care of her estate plan. But this was refused.

The attorney of Britney, Mathew Rosengart was present on behalf of the singer at the Los Angeles Superior Courthouse. After the hearing, her lawyer came outside and addressed the waiting reporters. He told them that now Britney can do whatever she wants with her assets and money. No one can intervene and she is now free. This legal success comes close to the termination of her conservatorship.

The end of her controversial conservatorship

Her father, Jamie was in charge of the finances of the singer. He was her conservator and was appointed by the law on an earlier occasion. This was due to the poor and fragile mental status of the singer at that time. Now that she is better with her treatment, she wanted this conservatorship to end. But Jamie had argued that Britney is still not well and he should be allowed to be her conservator. He has been handling the finances on her behalf from 2008 until September 2021 when it was suspended.

But on 12 November 2021, Court also totally ended this controversial conservatorship. After this first legal win, certified public accountant John Zabel continued as a temporary conservator of her estate. And now with the new hearing, the decision is that John will remain until 19 January 2022 when the second hearing would come.

Britney is extremely happy with the court’s decision. A source close to her told Hollywood Life:

“Britney just knocked out the final hurdle in her fight for freedom by getting control of all of her finances. This was the last that was keeping her under the control of her conservator’s and she is beyond ecstatic to have this horrific chapter of her life finally 100 percent behind her. She was always so bothered by her financial setup and how her money was never her money-until now. Her friends and those who know her well are truly overjoyed with the way everything has turned out for her.

“Britney deserves to spend her money the way she wants to spend it. She worked hard for it and never again will she deal with someone else telling her how to live her life or spend her paychecks. One thing is for sure-now that Britney has complete control over her millions, it is going to be a good Christmas for her, Sam, and the boys!”
