The stepdaughter of Chris Daughtry, Hannah Price died on 12 November 202. She was just 25 years of age and her death was a sudden one. Officials were uncertain as to what led to her sudden demise. After further examination and tests, they could reach a diagnosis on her death. Chris and his wife Deanna Daughtry have now released a joint statement that reveals the reason of Hannah’s death.

In the joint statement, the couple revealed that 5he ultimate cause of her death was suicide. They said:

“From a young age, Hannah struggled with mental illness and was in and out of therapy and treatment centers. As Hannah got older, she struggled to find her footing and began using drugs and often found herself abusive relationships.”

“Just months after losing her biological father to suicide, Hannah was the victim of a crime and was shot in the face. We did everything we could to support her and get her the help she needed to recover from these tragedies and get her life back on track. We had just recently made plans with Hannah for her to seek further treatment and move closer to the family.”

The morning of Hannah’s death…

As per the statement, on the morning of the day that she died, Hannah had told them that she feared for her life. Chris and Deanna contacted the police immediately to do a wellness check on her. The officials informed them that everything was okay.

But later in the day, Hannah’s boyfriend found her hanging. He rushed and called 911. The paramedic team came and after conducting an examination pronounced her dead on the scene. The Daughtrys surmised:

“After a thorough investigation by Fentres County DA, Fentress County Sheriff Office and the Knoxville Medical Examiners Office, they have determined her official cause of death as suicide by hanging while under the influence of Narcotics. It has been determined that there is no evidence of foul play.”

The investigation of Hannah’s death

On 12 November 2021, police immediately started an investigation. District Attorney General Jared Effler revealed this in a previous statement to the press. Jared said:

“Attempt to classify it as a homicide investigation at this time is premature and irresponsible.”

Chris and Deanna were heartbroken and devastated with Hannah’s sudden loss. 5hey shared their feelings and emotions on Instagram at that time. Chris wrote:

“I just recently lost my mother to cancer but I was blessed with the chance to say goodbye and I was processing it privately. We never got to say goodbye to our precious Hannah and it’s another huge hit to our family.”

“Hannah, I love you. I miss you. I wish I could hold you. This hurts so deeply.”

Songwriter Deanna who married Chris in 2000 had written on her social media:

“My first born. I love you endlessly Hannah. Our family would like to thank you all for the outpouring of love as we grieve the loss of our daughter Hannah.”
