The names of the women have not been disclosed in order to protect their privacy. Instead of names, pseudonyms were used for the two women.

Zoe, 40 and Lily, 31 have alleged that the famous actor Chris Noth had sexually assaulted them. These two women gave the details to Hollywood Reporter but they do not know each other. They also approached the media outlets months apart. But they state that promotion campaigns and press reports of And Just Like That, a sequel series of HBO Channel’s Sex and the City triggered painful memories of the time they were molested. The first incident occurred in Los Angeles in 2094 while the second happened in New York in 2015.

Lily is now a journalist. She approached the media outlet in August 2021 via an email:

“I’m not sure how you go about this sort of story and how you find the other victims,”

In 2015, she met Chris when she was a server in the VIP section of the now-shut New York nightclub No.8. She was 25 and he 60. He invited her for a date night out and she was too drunk. He invited her to his Greenwich Village apartment that he purchased in 1994. She obliged and he sexually assaulted her.

And Zoe described her ordeal in October 2021. She is still in the same entertainment industry. She stated:

“Seeing that he was reprising his role in Sex and the City set off something in me. For so many years, I buried it.”

Zoe graduated college in 2004 and moved to Los Angeles. She was 22 at that time and wanted to start work in an entry-level job with a firm where Chris and other stars had business. She elaborated:

“He would walk by my desk and flirt with me. He somehow got my number from the directory and was leaving messages on my work phone. My boss was like, ‘Mr. Big’s leaving messages on your voicemail,’”

Zoe’s ex-boss confirmed her saying. Chris has invited her to his apartment in West Hollywood on a pretext and raped her painfully. Her friend who stayed in the same building and is now a child psychologist confirmed that Zoe changed after she returned from Chris’ apartment. The two went to Cedars-Sinai hospital and Zoe got two stitches. She did not reveal the name of the rapist lest no one believes her. She required counselling therapy to overcome this shock.

Chris and his denial

Actor Chris has denied any wrongdoings. He issued a statement that read:

“The accusations against me made by individuals I met years, even decades, ago are categorically false. These stories could’ve been from 30 years ago or 30 days ago — no always means no — that is a line I did not cross. The encounters were consensual. It’s difficult not to question the timing of these stories coming out. I don’t know for certain why they are surfacing now, but I do know this: I did not assault these women.”
