In 2010, Stapleton formed “The Jompson Brothers,” a Southern rock band. Stapleton, Greg McKee, J.T. Cure, and Bard McNamee were among the band’s founders.

Following his departure from the band, Stapleton signed with Mercury Nashville to launch his solo career.
