Season 26 of The Bachelor show had its share of dramatic twists and turns. Clayton Echard chose Susie Evans for the rose but she rejected his offer. Later, what is the status of these two ex-lovers? Have they rekindled their romance or have moved away from each other with someone else?

The bachelor Clayton Echard on the show The Bachelor season 26 had professed his love to Susie Evans. He also had some feelings for Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia. On the 8 March 2022 episode of the show, Clayton had chosen Susie to be his fiancee. But she did not feel like moving forward with him after coming to know that he had slept with Gabby and Rachel. He had also told them both that he loved them. This did not go well with Susie. On the other hand, Clayton felt that Susie should have told him before that this was a deal breaker. Hence he was upset but added that he loved her the most. But Susie felt that if Clayton really loved her and wanted only her in the end, he would not have become intimate with the other two contestants.

There was a verbal fight and he packed off Susie home. He tried to get love from Gabby and Rachel. And also introduced Gabby and Rachel to his family.

Clayton could not forget his love for Susie

But though Clayton continued to find love on the show, he could not forget Susie. He had feelings for her still. He pleaded with Susie to return. She agreed to return on the show and meet his parents. She thought of making another attempt to work out the relationship. Clayton dumped the other two women.

On the finale episode that was shot in December 2021 but aired on 15 March 2022, Clayton wanted to make Susie his. But despite the comeback, Susie was not on the same page as him. She still had doubts on the relationship and ended it. Clayton was left alone with no love on the show.

It so happened that despite rejecting Clayton, Susie could not overcome her love feelings for him. After they left Iceland, she reached out to him. It was unexpected. But soon after this reconnection, the two started dating. Explaining the going-ons, Susie said:

“I really just had to choose myself in that moment [in Iceland]. I didn’t have all the answers I needed. We were no longer in a place where we could facilitate the conversations we needed to have to reestablish that trust and everything we needed for a strong relationship. I had to take a step away and I had to let Clayton go. I had to choose myself in that moment and it allowed me to take a better look and get the answers we both needed.”
