David Charvet was born David Franck Charvet in Lyon, France, on May 15, 1972. As of 2023, his age is 50. He was born to parents Christiane Charvet Haddad (mother) and Paul Guez (father). His mother is French whereas his father is a Sephardic Jew. Moreover, he is also a prominent businessman and the founder of the Sasson brand of jeans in the 1980s. 

Charvet has 5 sisters and a brother with whom he moved to the US when he was 9 years old. He evidently goes by his mother’s maiden name.

David Charvet rose to international fame with his portrayal of Matt Brody on the American TV program, ‘Baywatch’. He portrayed Matt from 1992-1995 for three full seasons. After that, he portrayed Craig Field on Melrose Place from 1996–98. Similarly, he also appeared in numerous TV series between 1995–99 including Derby, Angel Flight Down, Seduced and Betrayed, and Meet Prince Charming. In 1999, he took a break from acting and focused on his music career instead.

Charvet returned to France and landed a 5-album contract with Universal Music Group. With Universal, he released three pop-rock studio albums, David Charvet (1997), Leap of Faith (2002), and Se laisser quelque chose (2004). Throughout his career, Charvet sold over 2.5 million albums.

As a music artist, Charvet traveled extensively throughout Europe and Asia and performed in sold-out arenas. Moreover, he has collaborated with famous songwriters such as Ty Lacy, Robbie Williams’ producer Steve Power, Bryan Adams, and Seal.

In 2006, he decided to return to acting as a movie actor. He starred in Prisoners of the Sun which was released in 2013. Moreover, he also made an appearance in the movie Green Flash. 

In 2009, he appeared as a contestant in ABC’s summer reality TV show, ‘The Superstars’, and finished as a second runner up with his partner Lisa Leslie. The following year, he took part in the French reality show, La Ferme Célébrités broadcasted on TF1.
