His career started as he joined the NFL draft in 2009 where, in the second round, he was drawn up as the 34th overall by the New England Patriots and was the second safety exercise planned. The four years contract, on 27 July 2009, with a signing bonus of $2 million, was formally linked with the Patriots for $5 million.
He played 50 games and recorded 239 tackles (163 solos), 7 pass deflections, 7 interceptions, and a single touchdown during his initial trip with Patriots from 2009 to 2012.
Patrick’s services were purchased on 12 March 2013 by Philadelphia Eagles on a three-year deal with a promise of $10 million and $4 million. He spent a single season with the Eagles, playing 12 games, and making 44 tackles (29 solos, with 3 pass deflections) due to injuries, issues with the fight, and coverage.
