Jalen Rose, former NBA star confirms his divorce from his wife of 2.5 years, Molly Qerim!

There is another breakup in the celebrity world. This time it is in sports. Jalen Rose, an NBA star is divorcing his wife, host Molly Qerim. Fortunately for both, the divorce is amicable and there is still friendship left between the two sides.

Divorce rates are high during the coronavirus pandemic. Former NBA star, Jalen Rose and his wife, ESPN host Molly Qerim have called it quits to their married life. Jalen himself has confirmed this sad news.

TMZ Sports has also got in hand the court documents of the couple’s divorce. Jalen had filed for divorce earlier this year. It was not a long relationship. Their marriage lasted for only 2.5 years.

Insiders have revealed that there is no bitterness between the divorcing pair. They are on amicable terms and are still talking to each other.

The couple’s love tale

Jalen Rose and Molly Qerim had been dating for some time and it was in June 2016 that they went public with their relationship. The First Take host wed the basketball player in July 2018. All seemed to be going well in the couple’s life and now we hear that it has all ended earlier this year.

The pair was seen in public events together. Additionally, Molly and Jalen had also done a commercial for the Gatorade brand together just months before they filed for divorce. It was on 30 April 2021 that Jalen put in his legal papers for the official separation from Molly.

But the subtle breakup is obvious from their social networking sites. Both ceased appearing together at public events. There are no photos of the two together on their social media for many months before the official divorce. Molly also deleted the name Rose from her Instagram and Twitter accounts. As per Jalen, the marriage collapsed after Molly shifted to Connecticut. In the court documents, Jalen has not asked for any alimony. Nor is he going to give her any alimony. Molly is also not demanding any spousal support. The couple had not signed any prenuptial agreement prior to their short-lived marriage.

Jalen confirms the divorce

Though the divorce filing was in April 2021, it was on 9 December 2021 that Jalen posted about it on his Twitter handle. He did confirm that he and his wife are separated. He wrote:

“After being separated for almost a year, Molly and I have officially decided to go our separate ways. We both agree remaining friends and colleagues is the best course of action for our relationship moving forward. Please respect our privacy at this time,”

Jalen was with the NBA from 1994 to 2007. After his retirement from NBA, he changed his field and entered into a TV anchoring job. He is now with ESPN and even after the divorce, the two would continue their work with this channel. On the other hand, Molly was with NFL Network before. And now, she is working for ESPN as an anchor on their shows.
