Earlier Life

Playing Career

Pavelski started his playing career in 2002 at the age of 18 years. He scored his first goal in an NHL game which makes him the 11th sharks’ player in history. He won the Wisconsin State Hockey Championship with Stevens Point Area Senior High (SPASH). He was a member of 2004 Clark Cup champion Waterloo Black Hawks of the USHL and won the USHL Dave Tyler Junior Player of the Year Award.

In season 2004-06, he played 84 games at the University of Wisconsin of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association in a 2-year season. He helped Wisconsin to win the 2006 NCAA Division I men’s Ice Hockey Championship. He recorded 101 points in two seasons.

He began his NHL career in season 2006-07. He scores seven goals and ten points in his first 12 games. He became the regular player of the Shark roster in season 2007-08. During 2012-13 NHL Lockout, Pavelski signed with Belarusian team Dinamo Minsk of Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). On 30th July 2013, Sharks announced that the club has signed Pavelski for a five-year contract. On 11th March 2014, Pavelski scored his 400th career points against Toronto Maple Leafs. During this season, he scored 41 goals and 79 points.

In season 2014-15, he had another great scoring of 70 points i.e. 37 goals and 33 assists and in season 2015-16, Pavelski made a score of 78 points which includes 38 goals and 70 points. In the Stanley Cup final, Pavelski scored only one goal. On 1st December 2017, he scored 300th NHL goals on a pass from Joe Thornton against Florida Panthers.

International Career

On 1st January 2010, he was selected to the 2010 USA Olympic Team. He had three assists from his team’s members and was second in face-off percentage among all players in tournaments. Pavelski won a faceoff and made a pass that set up the play that results in the USA tying game with 24 seconds left. He was named as Swiss Army Knife by USA General Manager Brian Burke. On 1st January 2014, he was selected for the second time on the USA Olympic team.
