Julia Haart and the new lawsuit against her
The reality TV actress, Julia Haart, 50 has found herself on the wrong side of the law. Firstly she has split from her husband, Silvio Scaglia Haart 63. The divorce papers are in court and the proceedings are ongoing. And now in the midst of the divorce, Silvio has filed another lawsuit against his ex-wife Julia for financial fraud with him. He alleged that Julia transferred $ 850,000 into her personal account from Freedom Holding, a company that he had founded. This is misappropriation of his funds and he wants Julia to return that money to him. The said company is in control of Elite World Group. Julia is CEO of the latter group since 2019. Silvio claims that she did this money transfer after she was served a notice that she would be removed from her post.
Silvio is the chairman of Elite World Group. On 7 February 2022, he had sent her an email from his professional account and informed her of her sacking. But the very next day, Julia transferred the huge sum into her personal account from the company’s account. She had on 19 January 2022 agreed to not make any transfers above USD 250000. But she did it and thus violated her agreement with the firm.
Julia and her response to the lawsuit
On 11 February 2022, Julia’s lawyer, Marty Singer, told E Online that it is a false allegation. Marty stated that the case is not based on facts. The transfer was into a joint account that she has with Silvio. The attorney also revealed that Julia has filed a counteraction in the Delaware Court of Chancery regarding her wrongful termination from the company. As per the legal papers of Silvio, in his email to Julia, he had put the reason of her dismissal as the inability of her as CEO to meet targets of the company. It added that despite spending $ 50 million in costs, there was no visible progress in her work.
Further in the email, Silvio had added that he and his deputy director are left with no option but to sack her. They want to appointment her CEO who can immediately implement some cost-cutting techniques that would help stabilize the company. It would save the company and protect its employees. The claim is that Julia did this transfer for her own enrichment at the expense of the company and its original founder. Silvio demands the sum of $ 850k ad well as damages and attorney fees.
