Kliff Timothy Kingsbury, professionally known as Kliff Kingsbury is an American football coach and former player. He is the head coach of the Arizona Cardinal of the National Football League (NFL). The Cardinals hired him as the head coach on 8 January 2019. He previously has head coached Houston Cougars, Texas A&M Aggies, and Texas Tech Red Raiders. He was selected by the New England Patriots in the 6th round with the 201st overall pick in the 2003 NFL Draft. However, he made his NFL debut in November 2005 from the New York Jets. He is the recipient of the 2002 Sammy Baugh Trophy and Associated Press National Offensive Player of the Year.

He was selected by the New England Patriots with the 201st overall pick in the 6th round of the 2003 NFL Draft.

He did not play his rookie season for the Patriots due to injury.

The Patriots waived him in September 2004 and the New Orleans Saints signed him to the team’s practice squad.

He later signed to the Denver Broncos’ practice squad in September 2005. They released him in the same month.

Houston Cougars

He joined the University of Houston football staff in the position of quality control in August 2008. He was later promoted to the co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the Cougars serving alongside Jason Phillips. He was recognized as the 2011 Offensive Coordinator of the year.

Texas A&M Aggies

He joined Texas A&M for the 2012 season. He was named the 2012 Footballscoop.com Offensive Coordinator of the Year and was also named a finalist for the Broyles Award.

Texas Tech Red Raiders

In December 2012, he returned to his alma mater Texas Tech as its head coach. He became the second-youngest head coach of the team in an AQ conference and the third-youngest head coach in college football. He spent 5 seasons there from 2013 to 2018.

He became the first Big 12 coach to start his coaching career with 7-0.

His leadership in the 2014 season sold out tickets for the first time since Texas Tech’s inaugural 1925 season.

He led Texas Tech to conclude the 2015 season at 7-6, 4-5 in Big 12 play, and finish in 5th place.
