Lana Candor recently appeared on the show The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Here, she provided details of her engagement to her boyfriend, Anthony De La Torre. She revealed that she was not very surprised when Anthony popped the question because she had been giving him a lot of hints prior to the engagement. Lana said:

“I was like, ‘Babe, wow my nails look so good,’”

Elaborating on the engagement, Lana said that they were on a vacation in Mexico during Christmas. Anthony had arranged it to be a grand occasion. But it could not materialize. Hence, he decided to go down on one knee during the Christmas Eve dinner. Lana had not expected this. Hence it was some surprise for her. The actress added:

“He was setting up this dinner on the balcony, but I thought it was Christmas Eve dinner because I thought Christmas Eve was reserved for Baby Jesus,”

“So, I was like, ‘Oh no. It’s probably not going to happen tonight.’ And then it sure did.”

She announced her engagement on her Instagram in January and stated that saying yes to her boyfriend was 5he easiest decision of her life.

Lana is quite emotional about the engagement ring that her fiance Anthony, 28 gifted her. She said that it had her Vietnamese heritage in it. On her January social media post, Lana had praised for working with Paris jewellers to get the special design of her ring. She added in the caption:

“The fact he knew how important it was to me that he’d collaborate with a Vietnamese company to help design my ring is a testament to just how truly thoughtful he always is,”

“I cannot wait to be your wife, baby. I love you a million times over.”

And on the Jimmy Fallon show, she reiterated:

“He worked with this Vietnamese, family-owned jeweller from Canada—Paris Jewellers—to make it,”

“And he knows how important my heritage is to me. And he knows that paying it forward means a lot to me, as well. So he worked with these beautiful ladies there.”

“And I’m so happy, I can’t believe it,”

The relationship of the couple

Lana and Anthony had met at a party held for Emmy Awards 2015. Lana disclosed that the first move was from her side. She asked for his cell phone number in order to narrate to him a joke later. Lana recalled:

“I got his digits,”

“And as we were leaving, I was like ‘Oh, hey, hey, hey. I thought of this joke, but I forgot the punchline. Can I have your number, and then when I remember it later on, I’ll just text you.’”
