Lorde

A New New Zealander singer and songwriter, Lorde is known for employing unconventional music styles and thoughtful songwriting. She expressed interest in performing at local venues in her early teens. At the age of 16,  she released her first EP titled ‘The Love Club EP’. “Royals,” which was released as her debut single, became an international success, appearing in many charts across the globe. Going back to her early life, Lorde was born under the birth sign of Scorpio to her parents as Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O’Connor in the year 1996. Her mother, Sonja Yelich is a poet, and her father, Vic O’Conner is an engineer. Similarly, She was raised along with her three siblings, Angelo Yelich-O’Connor, Jerry Yelich-O’Conner, and India Yelich-O’conner in Takapuna, Auckland, New Zealand. She holds New Zealander and Croatian citizenship and she is a mix of Croatian and Irish ethnicity.

What happened to Lorde?

• After her second album Melodrama, Lorde took a break from her music career. One of the reasons behind her breakdown was the loss of her beloved dog, Pearl. She said, “Everything takes me a long time, this is what I’ve learned about myself”. 
• On her breaking time, she is working on projects closer to her home, such as gardening and baking.
• In January 2020, she posted a snippet of what seems to be a brand-new cover of the popular Porches song “Goodbye” to her Instagram stories.
• She also emailed her fans to apologize for disappearing from social media for a year and returned to the music industry with her third album soon.
• Despite the quarantine, she and producer Antonoff are still working remotely for her third album. The released date is yet to be announced.

Lorde has never been married but has a romantic relationship with James Lowe, a photographer. The lovebirds begin to start dating in 2013. However, the lovebirds ended their relationship in 2016. After that, she met Justin Warren and started dating each other.
