Marc Lamparello, a philosophy professor, was arrested in New York City’s St. Cathedral. When attempting to reach the cathedral with fuel and lighters, he was apprehended.

According to Deputy Commissioner of the New York Police Department, “As he approaches the cathedral, he is approached by a cathedral security officer who inquires about his intentions and tells him that he is not allowed to enter the cathedral with these objects. As he’s turning around, some fuel seems to have spilled onto the cement. It’s impossible to tell with certainty what his motives were. However, I believe that the totality of situations, such as a person walking into an iconic location like St. Patrick’s Cathedral with four gallons of fuel, two bottles of lighter fluid, and lighters, will cause us great concern.”

He was previously arrested on 15 April 2019 at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Newark, New Jersey, after refusing to leave the church grounds.

He had allegedly bought a $2,800 one-way ticket to Rome just hours before his arrest.

Legal Concerns

Marc Lamparello was arrested outside St. Patrick’s Cathedral on 17 April 2019. He was arrested with four gallons of gasoline, two bottles of lighter fluid, and lighters in his possession. He was confronted by the Cathedral security officer. The security officer denied him entering the cathedral carrying gasoline and lighter fluid.

He told the police that he wanted to cut through the church to get to Madison Avenue and also claimed that he had gas cans because his car ran out of gas. Police later discovered that his car was not out of gas.

NYPD Deputy Commissioner stated, “As he enters the cathedral, he’s confronted by a cathedral security officer who asks him where he’s going, informs him he can’t proceed into the cathedral carrying these things. At that point, some gasoline apparently is spilled onto the floor as he’s turned around. It’s hard exactly to say what his intentions were. But I think the totality of circumstances, of an individual walking into an iconic location like St. Patrick’s Cathedral, carrying over four gallons of gasoline, two bottles of lighter fluid and lighters, is something that we would have great concern over”

Earlier, he was reportedly arrested on 15 April 2019 at a church in New Jersey, Sacred Heart Cathedral in Newark after he refused to leave the church premises.

Is Marc Lamparello Single?

Marc Lamparello is reportedly single. He is searching for a partner according to his post on Reddit. He wrote, “Honestly, I’m getting murdered on Tinder. It’s a total self-esteem killer. I’m a pretty in-shape guy, and I’m going for in-shape women who are a little attractive and have a few nice features. Not models, but just generically attractive women. I’ve “swiped right” on 500+ women. So far, not a single match. Depressing. I think I should probably give up on dating for the time being, and focus really hard on school and work and saving up as much as I can for plastic surgery. Based on the consults I’ve had with my plastic surgeon, I’m confident I can go from a 4/10 to a 7.2-7.3/10. That’s what I’ll focus on now.”
