Mindy Weiss is in the business of wedding planning of celebrities for past three decades. And she continues to reign the industry. Her plans are unique with wild imagination and with a touch of warmth and kindness.
Mindy Weiss and her wedding planning
The celebrity wedding planner Mindy Weiss is popular for uniqueness and warmth in the project that she takes in hand. Mindy had planned and arranged for the lavish wedding celebration of Paris Hilton’s that lasted three days in Bel-Air. She has joined hands with Jennifer Lopez’s new wedding rom-com called Marry Me as well as Envy Apples to be a co-host of Love at First Bite contest. In this context, one lucky couple will get a grand prize worth $50,000 that they can use to fund their dream wedding.
Mindy has a lot of ideas on planning on a budget and also about the wedding decor. She says:
“I always tell my couples: First of all, enjoy that moment for a minute. And don’t rush out and book everything before you’ve taken the chance to figure out the budget and allocate it properly. But once you get the cost of your food and beverage, then you can move forward because that will be your big chunk. What I always say is ‘What are your priorities?’
Mindy feels that music and photography are important and after that one can plan on the food course and beverage.
Mindy and the wedding decor
The celebrity planner, Mindy feels that the today couples are more creative. They have some unique decor suggestions for their wedding. She reveals:
“I’m seeing couples getting a little more creative. And bringing in elements of fruits, vegetables, crystals. It’s not just about the flowers, but there’s an added element to my tables now. So we are adding fruits and vegetables and bringing those in with the beautiful flowers. One [COVID] bride—I drove her crazy about this—because when she was getting married the first time we were doing tangerines, so now, looking forward, I still want to bring in my fruit. So we’re bringing in pears instead.”
Mindy is in favor of doing things on table rather than the ceiling. She feels ceiling treatment should go away especially if budgeting is required in the planning. Mindy requests her clients to put in their personality in the planning. Thus she pushes for personalization of weddings. Additionally, Mindy prefers tequila bar. In the wedding decor, Mindy would like her clients to go for seasonal flowers that they like. She likes to be unique in floral arrangements so that guests have a new experience that they never witnessed before.
The old Hollywood experience
Mindy likes to have wedding dresses from Danielle Frankel. That is her obsession now. Admiring the brand, Mindy says:
“And she has a little bit of everything from sleek, Old Hollywood. There’s a trend for you: Old Hollywood. I’m doing five old Hollywood weddings. And Daniel Frankel has that dress, the sleek, satin dress off-the-shoulder with long, almost ‘too long’ of a sleeve. I think she’s got it right now.”
“Most of my brides are done with the low back look, and they’re going into this more old Hollywood look. They’re still buying that second dress though. I thought that would go away, but it’s not. They all are still buying the second dress [for the reception].”
Dessert tables, individualized cakes, and “to go” boxes of desserts that people can carry home are what Mindy feels are the trend now.
