There's a difference between standing up and telling people what you're planning to do and standing up and going and accomplishing something

You can't enter the Olympics unless you do your routine to get in shape for it. The idea of going out on stage on a tour without having prepped for it would be suicide, literally

Paul Stanley Shares His Uncensored Thoughts on Celebrities Who Have Committed Suicide
Paul Stanley, the frontman of KISS, spoke with Dan Rather’s The Big Interview, and AXS TV posted a teaser clip from an upcoming show.
Stanley explored why he wanted fame and how his plans worked out.
Paul’s argument is as follows:
“I had a condition called microtia, which is essentially the absence of an ear… I was not very socially adept, and when you have anything physical that distinguishes you from others, you become the subject of unrelenting criticism and sometimes mockery.
At that point in your life, when you achieve celebrity, it’s either a failure or you put a needle in your arm, a gun in your mouth, or you live your life as a survivor, which I’m not cut out for.
I was fortunate to be a part of an idea to form the band we never saw, which set me on a path that continues to this day. Where it will lead me, only God knows.”
