Shane Warne, Australian cricket legend dies in Thailand at age 52! Know about his death and personal life!

Shane Warne, the famous Australian cricketer is no more. He died of a suspected heart attack in a villa on the island of Koh Samui, Thailand. He was just 52. His family has released a statement on his passing away and requested for privacy during this hard time for them.

The Australian cricket legend Shane Warne expired on 4 March 2022 in Thailand in Koh Samui island in a villa. It was a sudden and premature death. He was just 52 years of age. No foul play is suspected. The suspicion is that the death occurred due to a massive heart attack. Shane’s family released a statement that read:

“Shane was found unresponsive in his villa and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived.”

“The family request privacy at this time and will provide further details in due course.”

Additionally, Shane’s manager revealed:

Shane and his career

Shane had a glorious professional life. He was an international player who represented Australia abroad from 1992 to 2007. He is world’s greatest bowler, next only to Sri Lankan Muttiah Muralitharan . Shane took 708 test wickets in his career of active play and this is the largest score in Australian cricket until now.

Bowler Shane was part of the cricket team in 1999 and helped them win the Cricket World Cup that year. He was also a major contributer of five Ashes-winning sides. He had played nationally and domestically at his home state, Victoria. Shane was representative of Hampshire in the county game for England. However, Shane retired in 2007. After that he took to TV broadcasting and was with Australia’s Nine Network and on Sky Sports in the UK. He was embroiled in controversy and allegedly had tested positive for a banned substance during play.

Shane’s personal life

Shane had wed his fiance, Simone Callahan in 1995. They have three children together. They are daughter Brooke, 24, daughter Summer, 20, and son Jackson 22. But the couple split in 2005. Later,the dated English actress, Liz Hurley from 2010 to 2013. She had moved in with him into his mansion in Victoria.

At that time, it was discovered that Shane was also texting a married businesswoman from Melbourne. In late 2011, Shane had proposed to Liz and she said yes. But in December 2013, they called off their engagement. In August 2021, he was in hospital for covid-19. He was on ventilator as a precautionary measure. He had said:

“I had a thumping headache and I had one day where I had the shivers, but sweating, like when you have the flu.”
