Sterling Shepard, New York Giants’ wide receiver divorces his wife of 3 years, model Chanel Imam

Sterling Shepard of The New York Giants is going through a rough patch in his life. He suffered an Achilles tendon injury and his team suffered a loss to the Dallas Cowboys. And now TMZ has reported that the athlete is divorcing his wife, model Chanel Imam.

Sportsperson Sterling Shepard is in bad luck both at the professional and personal front. He suffered an ankle injury on the field while playing against the Dallas Cowboys. And now a report from TMZ states that he and his wife, Victoria’s Secret model Chanel Imam are in the process of divorcing each other. The divorce happened before he got the injury. The report says:

“No word on what caused the split … but we’ve confirmed the New York Giants star filed docs on June 7, 2021 to officially kickstart the process of ending their marriage.”

The relationship of the couple

The couple’s marriage is not of a long duration. Chanel and Sterling met in 2016. It was at a party that the former Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz hosted. The two began dating and Sterling proposed to her on 2 December 2017. They exchanged wedding vows on 3 March 2018. Chanel delivered her first baby with Sterling in August 2018. They named the child Cali Clay Shepard. Their second child arrived in December 2019 and is called Cassie Snow Shepard. And in June 2021, the couple filed for divorce.

Chanel Imam, 31 hails from Atlanta, Georgia in the USA. She was born in 1990 and grew up in Los Angeles. She has a mixed heritage. Her mother is African-American-Korean. And her dad is African-American.

Chanel was in a relationship with A$AP Rocky since early 2013. In April 2014, the musician proposed to her and she said yes. But after two months in June 2014, they called off the engagement and split. In 2015, she was dating basketball player of Lakers, Jordan Clarkson but this relationship lasted for a short while.

Sterling is 28 now and hails from Oklahoma in the USA. His parents are Derrick Shepard and Cheri Shepard. Derrick had played in NFL from 1987 to 1991 as a wide receiver. But he expired when Sterling was just six years of age. Sterling has two siblings; Shelby Shepard and Ashleigh Shepard. He studied at the Heritage Hall School and later at The University of Oklahoma from 2012 to 2015. He had played college football.

The New York Giants selected Sterling during the second round at the 2016 NFL Draft. In 2019, they recruited him again for your years. He signed $ 41 million contract extension that year. But he soon landed into health issues. In total, he had been unable to play for 10 games this season. And in 2020 he did not play in 4 games. While he missed 6 games in 2019 and 5 in the year 2017.
