Two of the three judges of MasterChef Turkiye, Somer Sivrioğlu and Danilo Zanna divorced their wives within a week of each other

MasterChef Turkiye is based on the original British show MasterChef. There are three judges on the jury panel. One week back, one Italian judge got divorced from his Turkish wife. And now, another of the judges on the panel of the show, Somer Sivrioğlu also got an uncontested divorce from his wife. Know the full details below:

Somer Sivrioğlu is one of the three judges on the Turkish version of the original British cooking show called MasterChef. He and his wife, Aslı Sivrioğlu were in a marital relationship for the last 18 years. But the latest news is that the two have hot an uncontested divorce.

Somer was accused of infidelity when paparazzi caught him red-handed with one of the MasterChef Türkiye’s editors. In 2019, his wife, Aslı Sivrioğlu asked for a contested divorce. But due to the coronavirus pandemic, courts were closed. The divorce case got pushed forward. The couple converted the case into an uncontested divorce for speedy grant.

In front of the judge, Somer stated his intention to divorce. The Judge granted it. The whole matter was closed in just 20 minutes. As per the agreement, the custody of the two children of the couple would go to the wife who resides in Australia. Somer would have visitation rights only. And he will pay no compensation to his wife after the divorce.

Just one week before this, the Italian chef on the jury, Danilo Zanna divorced his wife Tuğçe Demirbilek who hailstorm Turkey. That was also an uncontested divorce case.

The third jury on the panel is Mehmet Çetinkaya. His marriage is still intact and he had three kids.

About Somer, the Turkish chef

Somer is not only a chef but he also owns a restaurant. He is from Istanbul in Turkey. He was born on 25 May 1971 and his other was also a chef and restaurateur. Hence he gained interest and a deep understanding of Turkish cuisine early in life.

Somer has worked in the hospitality industry on high positions. He helped launch high street restaurant chains, specialty eateries, and managed national restaurants. He launched his own restaurant called Efendy in Sydney in Balmain. After 9 years in 2016, he opened his second restaurant in Barangaroo and he called it Anason. He has hosted several TV shows and also did write-ups for several magazines and newspapers. He has also won several awards for his work.

The competitive cooking game show MasterChef Turkiye was on Show TV first but since 2018 its broadcast is on TV8. It began in 2011 with 13 episodes that year. The first season judges were Chefs Murat Bozok, Batuhan Piatti and Erol Kaynar. Later, after a break of 7 years it was telecast in 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021.
