Zak Starkey, drummer and son of musician Ringo Starr weds his long-term partner, Sharna Liguz in California
Covid pandemic is still on but the world is opening up for economic salvage. And people are getting married in greater numbers lest another wave of the pandemic strikes and their dream wedding unfortunately gets postponed due to it. The son of English musician, Ringo Starr, Zak Starkey, 56 wed his partner, Sharna “Ssshh” Liguz, 37 on 21 March 2022 in West Hollywood.

It was a great day for Zak Starkey, son of musician Ringo Starr and his partner, Sharna Liguz. The couple exchanged wedding vows on 21 March 2022. The venue of the wedding was the Sunset Marquis in West Hollywood, California. Zak is a drummer and for the wedding, rock stars Eddie Vedder and Johnny Marr served as best men. The reggae singer Pato Banton officiated the wedding ceremony and it was a touching occasion for them.
The exclusive photos of the wedding are with people magazine. In one of the photos, Sharna has worn the Alexander McQueen gown. She is standing beside her husband who is in yellow. In other picture, Zak is seen holding their one year old daughter, Luna Lee Lightnin. In another family photo, along with the the newly weds stood Zak’s father, Ringo, Zak’s best man, Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder, and Sharna’s photographer father, Andrzej Liguz. Ringo was doing his peace sign to the camera. Johnny Marr attended via video. The other attendees of the wedding included Ringo’s current wife Barbara Starkey, Augusta Tigrett who is the daughter of Ringo’s first wife Maureen, and fashion publicist Kelly Cutrone.
The relationship of the couple
Zak and Sharna are in a relationship since 18 years. They perform together and the name of the duo is Ssshh. They also have together founded the record label, Trojan Jamaica. The couple also has a daughter who was born on 21 March 2021. The couple wed in the first birthday of their daughter. They released a statement to People magazine in which they wrote:
“After 18 years together, Luna’s umbilical cord kinda tied the knot, but we wanted to make it official and share with our friends and family in the U.S., before doing the same in Jamaica and the U.K.,”

The happy couple also uploaded the announcement of their wedding on their respective Instagram pages. Zak wrote:
“Great to be solid with the greatest girl in the world,”
“And to celebrate Luna’s No. 1 birthday. Thanks to everyone who came from near, far, wide, abstract, and online. Our dearest friends in da USA- great to see u at our wedding and experience true party stamina. Feels great to be wed to the woman I have loved for 18 years.”
Sharna too talked about her wedding on her social media. She wrote:
“This super small affair happened with our nearest & dearest on the day our darling daughter was born. A double celebration of love life & all the blessings bestowed pon us. So grateful for our family. Locked & loaded & ready to roll with love.”
