Sources close to Kelly told Hollywood Life that Kelly is in a happy space of her life and not yet ready for the dating pool. She has the great support of her loyal friends too. The insider said:

“Kelly’s friends have been such a huge support system during her divorce from Brandon. All they want is for her to be happy,”

“They’ve been encouraging Kelly to test the waters and try the dating scene again. Kelly has given this a lot of thought, but she’s the type of person who gives a lot of love and she knows that she deserves someone who will treat her like the incredible woman that she is.”

Singer Kelly started dating talent manager, Brandon in 2012 and they wed in 2013. The wedding was on 20 October 2013 at Blacberry Farm in Walland in Tennessee. The couple has two kids together: a daughter, River Rose, 7, and a son, Remy, 5. They divorced in 2020 in the month of June. The divorce proceedings are still ongoing. At that time, in an interview with Billboard, Kelly had stressed:

“This isn’t happiness, for both of us, you know? I feel both of us deserve better, and neither one of us would want this for our children.”

She has no desire to date during this major transition in her life in the midst of the non-ceasing coronavirus pandemic. The source said:

The Texan beauty Kelly was born on 24 April 1982 in Fort Worth in Texas. She is the youngest of three children of Jeanne Ann (née Rose), an English teacher tutoring first grade students, and Stephen Michael Clarkson, an engineer. Her elder brother is Jason and the elder sister is called Alyssa. At her age of six her parents divorced. Her father remarried and from his side she has two younger half-brothers. Her mother later remarried and Kelly’s stepfather is Jimmy Taylor.

Kelly has a mixed ethnicity comprising of English, Irish, Welsh, and Greek descent. She had said:

“My family was highly conservative; I had to go to church on Sunday and Wednesday.”

She studied at Pauline Hughes Middle School. In 2000, she graduated from Burleson High School. She was in school choir. She continued to learn music and sing but wanted to do things on her own. Kelly joined American Idol show and won it in 2002. That made her famous and ever since that she has not looked back.
