My Mom Your Dad: Know all about this new and unique show on HBO Max
A new adult dating show called My Mom, Your Dad is making it’s appearance on HBO Max channel. It will be telecast soon and is a show where adult single parents with kids will try to find love. It would be a second chance to them. And it sounds to be hilarious as well.
The concept of the show My mom Your Dad
The show My mom Your Dad is the brain child of a father-daughter duo. HBO Max exec Jennifer O’Connell revealed to Deadline about it:
“Created by a father-daughter duo who represent the two generational perspectives in the show, the concept of My Mom, Your Dad is heartfelt, hilarious, and cringeworthy,”
“Greg’s comedic brilliance with Haley’s original ideas, combined with the unscripted expertise of ITV Entertainment and the multi-talented Yvonne Orji is sure to result in highly addictive viewing.”
How would the show go?
The dating show would have all single parents gather in one place, a home and they will try to connect and find their love amongst the group. A group of college-going kids who want their single parent to resettle in life and be happy have nominated them to the show. Additionally, the single parent is not averse to this concept and joins in.
The children of these parents would be bundled up in another home down the block. They would be able to see their parents and their actions via hidden cameras placed at strategic points. These kids would also be able to pitch in to help their parent. They can manipulate some of the happenings in that house.
The show is a unique dating show for those who are dating later in life. The trailer reveals that it is bound to be funny and fun.
The host of the show, Yvonne Orji
Actress cum comedian, Yvonne Orji would be hosting the show. Her role would be to guide the parents as well as their children throughout the dating process.
Yvonne is a regular on HBO shows. She was in the series Insecure on the same network. She was a cast member of the primary team and portrayed the character of Molly Carter in the show from 2016 to 2021 when the show ended. The comedian was also in the 2020 comedy show Momma I made it. Here she narrated funny anecdotes related to her Nigerian-American upbringing. This show was very popular.
Yvonne was also part of the comedy show Night School. In this show were Kevin Hart and Tiffany Haddish. She was also in the Hulu original film Vacation Friends. Her costars in it were Lil Rel Howery and John Cena. Additionally, Yvonne has also penned the upcoming TV show, First Gen, on Disney+. Oprah Winfrey and David Oyelowo are collaborators on this show.
All 8 episodes of My Mom Your Dad will be broadcast on 13 January 2022 on HBO Max. Sam Dean is the show runner and would definitely make it worth watching and heartwarming.
