People including celebrities are opting for non-diamond engagement rings these days. They go for colored gemstones in this emblem of love. But it appears that the world is yet not prepared completely for it. It happened with Vanderpump Rules star Scheana Shay whose morganite engagement ring was sneered at. How did she react?

Brock Davies, fiance of Vanderpump Rules star Scheana Shay was on a reality show buying an engagement ring for his lady love. It was a beautiful engagement ring but instead of a diamond stone, it had morganite stone set in the metal. Kyle Chan designed the ring. Kyle had designed the jewellery and accessories that was worn by characters in the film La La Land. Lady Gaga and singer Beyonce had also utilized the services of Kyle for enriching their jewellery box.

The couple engaged in summer 2021. Shortly after their lovely engagement, Scheana spoke on her podcast and revealed that the main stone in the center was the semi-precious gemstone of morganite and it was surrounded by small-sized diamonds.

Reaction of fans to the morganite engagement ring on social media

There were some fans who took offence of the fact that the engagement ring was not having diamond stone in the center. One audience member tweeted:

‘It’s morganite. Not actually a diamond,‘

In response, Scheana said:

“It’s still 12.74 carats. Why does it matter what stone?”

Another fan agreed with her and commented:

‘diamonds are overrated,’

The American TV personality said in agreement:

“I agree. I didn’t want a Diamond. Morganites are beautiful and have so much meaning.”

More and more people are choosing colored gemstones with or without diamonds in their engagement rings. They add vibrance and color to the ring and are affordable and at the same time durable.

The relationship of Brock and Scheana

It is not clear how and when Brock and Scheana met. But they went public with their romance during the summer of 2020. Scheana had frozen her eggs a few years back. After going official with their relationship, she quickly and naturally became pregnant with Brock’s baby. She expressed surprise at her pregnancy since she revealed that doctors had told her that it is very less likely that she will ever become pregnant naturally. But in June 2020, she tearfully disclosed on her podcast that doctors found no fetal heart beat and she will have a natural miscarriage.

In October came the announcement of her second pregnancy. In November they came to know that the fetus was a daughter. And in end of April 2021, their daughter Summer Moon Honey Davies was born. In July 2021, Brock proposed to her and she said yes. The couple has a prenuptial agreement in place. Scheana did it because her ex-husband Michael Shay took away more than half of her bank account in divorce. Hence she did the paperwork so that she and her daughter do not suffer just in case.
