Miller has been one of the few faces among the people of President Donald Trump who has been showing loyalty towards their works as a key advisor and speechwriter. Miller has been with Trump since the early days of Trump’s presidency. Previously, Miller worked as the communications director for then-Senator Jeff Sessions. He reportedly played a central role in the resignation in April 2019 of Secretary of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen, who he believed was insufficiently hawkish on immigration.

In an email to The Washington Post on Tuesday, White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham said she had not seen the SPLC report but called the civil rights nonprofit an “utterly-discredited, long-debunked far-left smear organization.” Emails to former Breitbart writer show Miller focused on inserting white nationalist talking points to shape the 2016 election coverage.
